How to Download and Print Improved NIN Slip Using NIMC Mobile App

The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy has approved the development and release of an improved National Identity Number (NIN) slip and a Mobile App.

To download the app go to NIMC Mobile App.

Steps on how to print

  1. Launch the MWS Mobile ID app installed on your device (Android or iOS). Make sure you have the current version of the app installed or updated on your mobile device.
  2. Enter your PIN on the lock screen to continue
  3. Select the “PRINT NIN SLIP” button on the “Home” screen
  4. A login form with your “USERID” and “OTP” automatically populated is displayed, tap on the “Login” button to continue.
  5. You will now be successfully logged into the portal linked to your Mobile ID app.


First, make sure you have already enrolled and obtained your National Identification Number (NIN). Download the app. after successful installation,

  1. Go to the or online portal.
  2. If you have not already, download and install the NIMC MWS Mobile ID app on your mobile device. Learn more at
  3. Access NIMC’s MWS Mobile ID app on your mobile device. Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
  4. On the app’s home screen tap on the “SECURITY PIN” button.
  5. Take note of the “UserID” and “One Time PIN (OTP)” now displayed on the app’s “Security PIN” section.
  6. Use the UserID and OTP to log into to the or portal.
  7. Go to the the “Print Premium Slip” or “Print Standard Slip” menu section on the portal’s homepage.
  8. You can now print out the PDF document, cut it to the right size, fold it and laminate your Improved NIN Slip, if you like.

There are two types of NIN Slips which are the premium slip and the standard Slip.

Improved NIN Slip can be self-printed by ID holder for a fee payable to Remita. No special paper required. Is to be printed on regular A4 paper, front end back.

Importance of NIMC mobile app

  • Allows you to prove your identity with your smartphone on the go.
  • Used to verify and authenticate citizens and legal residents who already have NIN
  • Allow for its use across various other government services including FIRS, FRSC, NHIS, NPF, NYSC, etc.

NOTE:You need to have obtained the national identification number to access the app.
